Here at Abilities Inc, our focus is on you! We want you to be as successful and independent as possible. The way we make that happen is by focusing on you.

 At Abilities Inc, we create a team approach, with you being the focus. Services are created to meet your needs and your input is necessary in the creation of these services. 

Supports in Independent Living Skills are directly provided to assist in learning how to budget money, pay bills, access community activities, scheduling Doctor appointment, taking medications, & learning dietary options for better health. Supports in Vocational Services are directly provided to assist in searching, obtaining, and maintaining paid employment. People with disabilities can be matched to and trained in jobs where specific skills, interest, and abilities can result in a valuable asset to a business. Individuals with disabilities consistently prove themselves to be dedicated employees who are dependable, hard-working, and productive. Potential employers receive dedicated and loyal employees, lower turnover rates, reduced absenteeism, training to the employers expectations, and ongoing support and follow-up, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), access to a virtually untapped labor pool, savings on advertising and hiring and positive community recognition!  

All staff employed by Abilities Inc. receive training in working with individuals living with disabilities as required by the Department of Health and Human Services. All services are provided within a 30 mile/ 30 minute radius of the Corporate office. Service areas include Kinston, Pink Hill, LaGrange, Grifton, Deep Run, & Woodington areas. 

All services are paid for by Medicaid, State Funds, or Private Pay (pay scale available).

Abilities Inc. receives referrals from private citizens, those wishing services, or from one of the Managed Care Organizations. Hours of services are based on the individuals needs.

WHAT IS A TAILORED PLAN?

he NC Tailored Plan is a special type of health plan designed for people in North Carolina who have more complex health needs. This includes individuals with serious mental health issues, substance use disorders, intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), or traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

The plan combines regular health care services, like doctor visits and prescription drugs, with additional support for these specific conditions. It aims to provide more personalized and comprehensive care, ensuring that people get the help they need to manage their health effectively.

  WHAT IS A STANDARD PLAN?  

If you don’t qualify for the NC Tailored Plan, you would typically be enrolled in the Standard Plan under NC Medicaid Managed Care. The Standard Plan provides comprehensive health coverage, including doctor visits, hospital care, prescription drugs, and preventive services. It is designed for individuals with less complex health needs compared to those covered by the Tailored Plan.

The Standard Plan still offers a wide range of services to ensure you receive the necessary care and support for your health and well-being.
